Countdown to MAAC Hoops

EDISON, N.J. – The 2013-14 men’s and women’s college basketball season officially gets underway on Nov. 8 with seven games on tap for Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference teams (three men’s teams in action, and four women’s teams).
Leading up to the start of the season, MAACSports.com will give its readers a regular dose of hoops through the month of October and into the first week of November as we build towards tipoff.
Beginning this week on Oct. 2-4, we will focus on MAAC women’s basketball, and will roll-out our preseason All-MAAC first, second and third teams (in reverse order). Oct. 4th’s release of the All-MAAC will also include video highlights of the preseason first team. The MAAC’s preseason teams, both men’s and women’s, were selected by the league’s coaches.
In week two, Oct. 9-11, we’ll shift gears to reveal the men’s preseason All-MAAC teams, culminating with the first team release on Oct. 11, accompanied by video highlights.
In week three, Oct. 16-18, the picks for the Pre-Season Players of the Year will be unveiled, with the women’s choice revealed on Oct. 16 and the men’s selection on Oct. 17, both accompanied by video highlights. On Oct. 18, MAACsports.org will re-cap all of the men’s and women’s preseason polls, preseason All-MAAC teams, and pre-season players of the year.
MAACSports.org will then focus on the individual MAAC men’s and women’s teams representing each member of the league on daily basis, beginning with Canisius on Oct. 21, and culminating with Siena on Nov. 4.
