Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Members of SAAC, men and women’s cross country, football, men and women’s lacrosse, men and women’s crew, men and women’s soccer and women’s tennis participated in the 2nd annual Friends of Jaclyn Angel Walk which remembers and honors children and families affected by pediatric brain tumors and helps raise awareness about this insidious disease. Friends of Jaclyn is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit organization. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for children and their families who are battling pediatric brain tumors and to raise awareness about this disease.

FOJ pairs up (matches) children and their families battling pediatric brain tumors with college and high school sports teams. The teams give these children love, support and friendship as they battle this insidious disease.

We celebrate each day by creating lasting relationships between student athletes and the children and their families, which greatly improve the quality of life for children with brain tumors, and those who support them.

Teams volunteered at pre-walk events during the day of the walk and then participated in the walk afterwards. Women’s lacrosse held a clinic on campus after the FOJ Walk with all proceeds benefitting Friends of Jaclyn.
