Marist College was the unanimous choice in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll earning all 11 first place votes. Last season, the Red Foxes won their eighth consecutive MAAC Championship and ninth in the past 10 seasons. The Marist women's basketball team swept the MAAC regular season going 18-0 for the first time since 2010-11 and third time overall.
MAAC Championship runner-up Iona College finished in second place closely followed by 2013 NCAA qualifier and league newcomer Quinnipiac University.

Iona College junior guard Damika Martinez was the unanimous selection as 2013-14 MAAC Women’s Basketball Preseason Player of the Year. Martinez was named the 2012-13 Pepsi Max MAAC Player of the Year last season after leading the MAAC in scoring with 18.1 points per game and in three-pointers made with 79.
