Daniel Clorley
Iona – Cross Country
Senior – Luton, England/Birmingham University
Senior Daniel Clorley was the team's top finisher, finishing 10th overall with an 8k time of 23:41.13 as the No. 18 Iona College men's cross country team finished third overall in the 2013 Pre-National Invitational Blue Race hosted by Indiana State University. The Gaels finished ahead of three nationally ranked programs in the event. Iona finished behind No. 2 Colorado and No. 4 Oregon in the event. No. 29 Stanford and No. 9 Tulsa rounded out the top five. The Gaels finished ahead of No. 10 Princeton, No. 1 Oklahoma State and No. 19 Boise State.
Ashley Small
Fairfield - Women’s Soccer
Junior – Melville, N.Y./St. Anthony’s
Ashley Small is in the midst of a career-season, entering the final week of the regular season as the Stags team leader in points, 21, and goals, 10. Of those 10 goals, six have been the game-winner, a personal-best for a season and put Small into the top-10 of the career list at Fairfield with eight. Small has excelled in the classroom as well, earning Department of Athletics 3.0 Club status in every semester and Dean’s List recognition in the Fall 2012 semester. An accounting major, Small was named to the All-MAAC Academic Team in 2012 and was an All-MAAC Rookie Team selection in 2011.
