MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
IGNACIO MAGANTO, Iona

Ignacio Maganto scored three goals, including a pair of game winners, to lead the Gaels to a 2-0 week. Maganto scored twice against Marist in a 4-1 victory, with the game winner coming from 15-yards out in the first half. He added a second goal later in the first half. Against Niagara, the Gaels battled the Purple Eagles to a scoreless tie in regulation before Maganto made quick work of the overtime session when he drilled a strike from 12 yards out in the 91st minute for the game winning goal. Maganto now has four game winning goals for the season, and a league leading nine goals. It was the third time this season that Maganto has been selectged as MAAC Offensive Player of the Week.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
ERIC KLENOFSKY, Monmouth
G, Fr., 6-6, 170, Lincoln Park, NJ/DePaul Catholic
Eric Klenofsky recorded two shutouts last week as Monmouth improved to 6-0-1 in league play. In the first game of the week, Klenofsky had four saves in a 2-0 win over Saint Peter’s in rain-soaked conditions. Then, last Saturday, in a game of MAAC unbeatens, Klenofsky recorded two saves in a 1-0 victory over Quinnipiac. He stopped a point blank header by a Quinnipiac midfielder to preserve the shutout. Since taking over the starting goalkeeper position seven games ago, the Klenofsky-led Hawks have posted an unbeaten 6-0-1 record, including five shutouts. It is the third consecutive week that Klenofsky has been named Defensive Player of the Week in the MAAC.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
JULIAN PETRELLO, Iona
G, RFr., 6-3, 170, New York, NY/HS – Math, Science & Engineering
Goalkeeper Julian Petrello recorded two shutouts in goal for the Gaels last week. In the first match, Petrello had three saves in 57 minutes before coming out of the match with the Gaels holding on to a 3-0 lead against Marist. With Iona ahead 1-0, Petrello repelled a penalty kick and Iona maintained its lead. In the second game of the week, against Niagara, Petrello made three saves to earn his fourth shutout of the year. It was the first time this season that Petrello was cited as the MAAC’s Rookie of the Week. Earlier this year, he was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week.
