MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
SOFIA SANCHEZ, Iona

Sofia Sanchez scored in each of Iona’s final two regular season matches, both victories. Most recently, she scored the game winner for the Gaels as they knocked off Niagara 2-1. Earlier in the week, she topped off the scoring for Iona in a 3-0 win over Marist. It was an important week for Iona, as the two victories moved the Gaels into third place as it enters the 2013 MAAC Championships.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
NATALIA GRODZKI, Quinnipiac
G, So., 5-7, Bartlett, Ill./Barlett
Natalia Grodzki posted two shutouts last week as the Bobcats were 1-0-1. She recorded five saves in a 1-0 victory over Manhattan. In the second game of the week on Saturday, Grodzki and the Bobcats blanked Monmouth in a scoreless double overtime tie, the only MAAC game that Monmouth didn’t score in this season. For the week she registered nine saves while playing all 200 minutes. It was the second time this season that Grodzki was named Defensive Player of the Week.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
PRISCILLA SANTOS, Rider
B, Fr., 5-4, Glendora, CA./Glendora, CA
Priscilla Santos took care of the scoring last week for Rider, scoring both goals as the Broncs went 1-0-1. In a 1-1 tie with Niagara on Wednesday, Santos came off the bench and scored on a header with less than 15 minutes remaining to tie the score at 1-1. In a 1-0 overtime victory over Fairfield, Santos started and scored the match’s only goal, in overtime. The victory lifted Rider into a tie for fifth place, and the tie-breaker gave the Broncs a first-round bye in the upcoming MAAC championship.
