POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist women’s basketball team is ranked 25th in USA Today Sports Magazine preseason poll. The Red Foxes are looking to earn their 9th consecutive, 10th overall, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championship this season under head coach Brian Giorgis.
Defending national champion, the University of Connecticut Huskies, topped the list at number one. Two of Marist’s non-conference opponents are featured in the poll; Kentucky at number seven and Oklahoma at number 15. The Huskies are followed by Stanford (2), Duke (3), Tennessee (4) and Maryland (5).
The Red Foxes were unanimously selected by the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll as the favorite to win another MAAC championship this season.
