Goodling, Scola Repeat as MAAC Golfers of the Month

Edison, NJ – Monmouth University’s Brady Goodling was named the MAAC Men’s Golfer of the Month for October, while Quinnipiac University’s Nicole Scola earned the women’s award.

In two events in October, Goodling paced the Monmouth men’s golf team with 76.3 stroke average.  At the Binghamton Invitational, Goodling shot a one-over-par 73 in the rain-shortened event to lead the Blue and White, before firing a 156 (74-82) in the 36-hole Barnabas Health Intercollegiate hosted by Seton Hall. He cared a 74 on the first day and finished

Scola competed in three events this month, finishing in the top five in two of the three averaging 78.33 per round and 156.67 per 18-holes. At the St. John’s Invitational on Oct. 7-8, Scola finished tied for 4th out of 65 golfers carding a 79 (+7) on the first day before trimming five strokes from her first-day total for a second round 74 (+2) to finish at 153 (+9) for the tournament. At the Rutger’s Women’s Invitational, Scola finished tied for 34th out of 112 after turning in a 159 (+14) after shooting an 81 (+9) on the first day and a 78 (+6) on the second day. She then finished 2nd out of 34 golfers at the Third Annual Quinnipiac Women’s Golf Classic shooting back-to-back 79’s for the two rounds.

The 2014 Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships will be held April 25-27 at Disney’s Palm Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
