rja Angoitia - Quinnipiac University
Goalkeeper Jr. 6-2 185 Bilbao, Spain / Erandio and Wasilla
Borja Angoitia paced the Bobcats defense in the final week of regular season play, adding two more wins to his resume to up his career total to 23. Angoitia has put together one of the finest campaigns in program history, and this past week wasn’t any different as the junior goalkeeper combined for 13 saves in over 200 minutes of soccer. Angoitia made seven saves in a 2-1 win at Siena, and then made six saves in a 1-0 win at Rider – both games that went to double-overtime. He currently finds himself within the top two all-time in three career statistical categories at QU. He is second in career shutouts (15), goals against average (1.14) and all-time in wins (23). His nine shutouts this year also ties him with Freddy Hall '09 for the most shutouts in a single-season.
Kim Vona – Niagara University
Cross Country Sr. Angola, N.Y./Lake Shore High School
Niagara senior Kim Vona is set to wind down her final season on the Purple Eagles women’s cross country team with this weekend’s NCAA Regionals in the Bronx. The Angola, N.Y. native has run in 25 races over the past four years and has led Niagara in each and every one, including two first-place finishes to begin this season. She also earned a top-10 finish in this year’s MAAC Championships which gave the senior her second-consecutive medal at the event. Vona will graduate this spring with a degree in Marketing.
