Joseph Schmid – Monmouth University

Joseph Schmid, captain of the Monmouth men’s soccer team, finished his senior in style. Schmid helped lead the Hawks to the MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship title game, and was named to the All-MAAC First Team, to the MAAC’s All-Academic Team, and was selected to the MAAC’s All-Championship Team. A 2012 All-North Atlantic Region First Team selection, he was also named to the 2013 Preseason MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. He’s a health studies major with a 3.24 cumulative GPA. Schmid scored five points for the Hawks, including a goal and three assists.
Brooke Zywick – Marist College
5-4 Junior Garden City, Mich./John Glenn
Junior libero Brooke Zywick of the Marist volleyball team was recently named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Capital One Academic All-District Team. Zywick is part of an overall outstanding effort from Marist’s volleyball team that has been the recipient of numerous recent academic achievements. Last June, the team earned its second consecutive NCAA Public Recognition Award for its Academic Progress Rate (APR) score. In August, the team earned a seventh consecutive American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) team academic award (all under head coach Tom Hanna). Zywick is the ninth Marist volleyball player to be named Academic All-District in the last six years. In the final regular season match of the 2013 season, Zywick broke the Marist record for the most digs in a single season, with 511.
