NSCAA Recogizes MAAC Teams For Academic Achievement

EDISON, N.J.  – Ten women’s teams and seven men’s team from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference were named 2013 College Team Academic Award Winners by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, it was announced today.

A total of 863 college soccer teams (593 women, 270 men) were recognized for their efforts in the 2012-13 academic year, having posted a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. In that total were 182 schools that had both their men’s and women’s teams honored by the NSCAA, including six MAAC institutions.

Recognized by the NSCAA as College Team Academic Award Winners from the MAAC were men’s and women’s teams from Canisius, Iona, Marist, Monmouth, Quinnipiac and Rider. Additionally, the Niagara men’s team, and women’s teams from Fairfield, Manhattan, Saint Peter’s and Siena were also cited by the NSCAA.
