Iona College junior guard Damika Martinez set a new Iona women's basketball single game scoring record with a career high 42 points in the Gaels' 83-67 victory over Columbia in non-conference action. In just 27 minutes of action, Martinez connected on a career high 17 field goals, including six from behind the arc. In the first half, Martinez connected on 11-of-16 shot attempts, including two trifectas to help the Gaels secure a 14 point halftime lead. In the second half, Martinez only played seven minutes, but connected on all of her six shot attempts, including four three pointers for a total of 16 points. Martinez's final basket, a three pointer with 13:09 remaining, gave the Gaels a 28 point lead, its largest of the game, in a contest the team never trailed in. In two career games against the Lions, Martinez is averaging 37.5 points per contest. Martinez also grabbed five rebounds and added three assists and two steals in the win.

Brianna Logan, Siena

For the third straight game Logan netted a new career-high in scoring, pouring in 12 points off the bench in the Saints’ game at #8 Maryland Monday. She scored seven of her points and added an assist igniting an impressive early 12-2 run that pulled Siena as close as five points midway through the first half. Over her past three games Logan is averaging a team-high 10.3 points coming off the bench.
