Marist Sweeps Women's Basketball Weekly Awards

MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

Sydney Coffey, Marist

Sophomore Sydney Coffey led Marist to a historic week, notching two victories over Northeastern, predicted to finish 3rd in the CAA Preseason Coaches’ Poll, and nationally ranked #20/19 Oklahoma. In a 103-66 victory against Northeastern, Coffey posted 19 points, five assists, five rebounds, and two steals for the Red Foxes, shooting 6-for-9 (.666) from the field, 1-for-2 (.500) from three-point range and 6-for-7 (.857) from the free-throw line. In the 76-69 win over nationally ranked Oklahoma on Saturday, Coffey recorded a career and team-high 25 points. She also contributed three rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal. Coffey shot 7-for-9 (.778) from the field, and 10-for-12 (.833) from the free-throw line, including a layup and two free-throws in the final ten seconds of the game to secure the Red Fox victory.

Katharine Fogarty, Marist

Freshman Katharine Fogarty was one of four Red Foxes that shot in double digits on Wednesday in Marist’s 103-66 victory over Northeastern. Fogarty posted 14 points, shooting 3-for-4 from the field (.750), 2-for-3 from three-point range (.667), and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. She contributed an additional five rebounds and one block in the historic game. Fogarty also recorded an additional three rebounds and one block in Marist’s 76-69 victory over #20/19 Oklahoma on Saturday.
