Monmouth Pair Named to ECAC Men's Soccer All-Star Teams

EDISON, N.J. – Midfielder Joseph Schmid of Monmouth University was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) 2013 Division I Men’s Soccer All-Star first team, while junior defender Matt Jeffery was named to the ECAC All-Star second team.
Schmid and Jeffery were key cogs for the Hawks, who tied for first in the MAAC regular season, and advanced to the title game of the MAAC championship tournament.
Schmid, a senior, was one of the top midfielders in the East again this year, scoring one goal and adding three assists on the season. He was a first-team All-MAAC selection and was also named to the prestigious MAC Herman Trophy Watch List.
Jeffery, a junior, was named the MAAC’s Defensive Player of the Year as he spearheaded a backline that allowed just three goals in conference play, and registered seven shutouts.
