New Rochelle, N.Y. - On Saturday February 9, as part of the Iona Men's and Women's Basketball doubleheader, several of Iona College's teams volunteered to help raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. All proceeds from the event were donated to the Play4Kay Foundation for breast cancer research.

Iona's Baseball and Volleyball teams helped host the first ever Cut It For Cancer Head Shaving Station. Fans who volunteered to shave their head received a free ticket to the 50/50 raffle being held during the doubleheader.  Iona Women's Water Polo and Men's and Women's Swimming teams also participated in the events, helping to sell Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirts, bracelets, and pins to fans. Throughout the week leading up to the games, Iona's SAAC reps sold pink t-shirts across campus to help raise awareness for the event.
