Gatto and Adams Earn Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

Lauren Gatto,

Gatto
led the Purple Eagles as they split the week against Loyola and Rider,
averaging 23.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg, while shooting 48.8 percent (21-for-42) from
the field. She opened the week with a career-high 25 points against
Loyola after hitting 12-of-21 (57.1 percent) of her looks from the field.
She brought in a team-high eight rebounds and added a pair of blocks, a steal,
and an assist. The Mayfield, Ohio native followed that up with her second
double-double of the season in Niagara's win over Rider. Gatto scored a
game-high 22 points, brought down 11 rebounds, and added another block, assist,
and steal. For the weekend she turned in a 5-for-6 (83.3 percent) effort
from the free-throw line.

Joy Adams, Iona,

Freshman
Joy Adams averaged 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds for the Gaels, beginning with
an 11 point, five rebound effort at Siena.
Adams then scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Gaels' win at
Fairfield. Adams connected on eight of
her ten attempts from the field and collected her eighth double-double of the
season, matching the most by an Iona player in a single season since 2008-09.
