Twelve MAAC Swimming and Diving Teams Earn Scholar All-American Honors

Edison, NJ - Twelve of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's and women's swimming and diving teams were honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for academic excellence during the fall semester. The teams that achieve a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher received Scholar All-American status.

Fairfield University's Women's Swimming and Diving team compiled a team grade point average of 3.53, which placed the Stags fifth in the nation among Division I institutions and first among teams from the MAAC. Five other MAAC women's swimming and diving programs were honored as well. Canisius College ranked 63rd with a team average of 3.29, Marist College ranked 70th with 3.27 average, close behind was 78th ranked Iona College with a 3.27 average. Siena College ranked 100th with a 3.20 team average and Rider University ranked 107th with a 3.17.  

On the men's side, Canisius ranked 10th among the Division I institutions with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.30. Fairfield ranked 22nd with a 3.22 average, Rider ranked 28th with a 3.17 average, Manhattan and Iona tied for 38th with a 3.11 average, followed by Marist ranking 48th with a 3.09 average.
