Amy Olsen, Iona

Junior Amy Olsen led
the Gaels with 22 goals and eight assists for a total of 30 points over six
games on Iona's annual Spring Break Trip to California. Olsen's weekend was highlighted by a five
goal, three assist effort as the Gaels snapped a four year losing streak to the
Lancers with a 10-9 victory. Olsen also
drew four kickouts in the victory.
Against George Washington, Olsen scored five goals, dished out two
assists and drew six kickouts in a wild 20-17 Iona victory. Olsen contributed five points on three goals
and two assists against Azusa Pacific, to go along with two field blocks.
Defensive Player of the Week
Laura Karbach, Wagner
Sr., GK, Abington, PA/Germantown Academy
Karbach had an
impressive six game stretch in California, leading Wagner to five wins in six
games during this past week. The senior goalie recorded 69 blocks, 20 steals, 1
assist, while allowing just 38 goals (6.33 GAA) in six games. Karbach had a
.645 save percentage, while notching double-digit saves in four games,
including 15 against Indiana and 14 against Chapman.
Rookie of the
Week
Megan Rodriguez, Wagner
Fr., Attacker, Danville,
CA/ San Ramon Valley
For the week, Rodriguez recorded 18 points off of 7 goals
and 11 assists in six games. The freshman had two goals and four assists in a
10-8 victory over Azusa Pacific (3/12) while having one goal and three assists
games against Concordia (3/13) and Redlands (3/15).
