Springfield, Mass. - The top two seeds, Marist College and Iona College, will meet in the 2013 MAAC Women's Basketball Championship Game at noon on Monday, March 11 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. The game will air live on ESPNU.

Marist has reeled off 20 wins in a row and is coming off a 61-36 blowout victory against fifth-seeded Niagara University in the semifinals. The Red Foxes will be looking to claim their eighth consecutive MAAC title and eighth overall. Leading the charge will be 2013 Pepsi Max Defensive Player of the Year, Leanne Ockenden, and MAAC Sixth Player of the Year, Kristina Danella.

Iona has won its last 9 contests, including victories over seventh-seeded Canisius College and sixth-seeded Siena College in the MAAC Women's Basketball Championships. But, the Gaels have to face Marist, a team they have not beaten since a 62-46 win during the 2000-2001 season under coach Michelle Brusseau. Iona will look to their Pepsi Max Player of the Year, Damika Martinez and Pepsi Max Rookie of the Year, Joy Adams, to lead them to the programs first ever championship victory.

The winner will receive the MAAC's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.
