Ken Taylor to Receive Mike Cohen "Good Guy" Award

Edison, N.J. – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Associate Commissioner for Men’s Basketball Operations and Baseball, Ken Taylor, will receive the Mike Cohen “Good Guy” Award at the 80th All Met Haggerty Awards Dinner on April 15 at the Westchester Marriott.
The Haggerty Dinner is the longest running college basketball awards program conducted by a media group in the United States.
Taylor is in his 13th year with the MAAC after joining the Conference in 1999 as Administrative Fellow for Ice Hockey and Media Relations. He has held various roles at the MAAC including Director of Ice Hockey and Special Events, Director of Championships and Assistant Commissioner for Championships. As Assistant Commissioner for Championships, Taylor managed 22 different Conference sports.
In his current role, Taylor oversees operations for men’s basketball and baseball. He coordinates the MAAC Basketball television package, officiating bureaus, in-season scheduling and administration of the MAAC Basketball and Baseball Championships.
Taylor served as Tournament Manager for the 2007 and 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship First and Second Rounds in Buffalo, N.Y. and will resume the same role for the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship Second and Third Rounds also held in Buffalo, N.Y. He also was Tournament Manager for the 2003 NCAA Division I Men’s Frozen Four in Buffalo, N.Y. and the 2000 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Northeast Regional in New York, N.Y.
Taylor has been visible on the national level in a number of ways, serving as a member of the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Rules Committee (2001-05) and NCAA Division I Championships and Competition Cabinet (2004-05).
A graduate of Michigan University (’97) with a Master’s degree in Sport administration from Wayne State University (’03), Taylor resides in Monroe Township, N.J. with his wife, Sandra, and two daughters, Katherine and Samantha.
