Jessica Burdge, Wagner

In the four MAAC wins over the weekend, sophomore Jessica Burdge totaled 12 goals, five assists, six steals, four drawn exclusions, and was the winner of three sprints. Burdge set a school record in the VMI game, scoring her 108th goal of the season beating out Chelsea Beck’s record from a season ago. Burdge now has 111 goals on the year and has scored in every game but one on the year. In the Villanova game, the sophomore had four goals and three assists, then followed it up in the VMI game, scoring five goals. The Stockton, California native scored her third goal in overtime against Marist, which propelled Wagner to a two-goal victory and the tiebreaker to win the regular season MAAC Championship.
Defensive Player of the Week
Laura Karbach, Wagner
Sr., GK, Abington, Pennsylvania / Germantown Academy
During four MAAC wins over the weekend, Karbach totaled 41 saves, five steals, and four assists. Against VMI, the senior had 14 saves while only allowing four goals. In the overtime victory against Marist, Karbach came up huge saving 15 shots including two in the overtime period, while only allowing six goals to the Red Foxes. For the weekend, the senior gave up 6.25 goals per game, while recording a .621 save percentage.

Sarina Shibata, Villanova

Tallied 25 shots, seven steals and four ejections drawn in four matches … Helped the Wildcats clinch a berth in the conference tournament … Leads the team in goals this season with 52 and is second on the team in shots (155), points (75) and steals (52).
