Bjerke went 2-0 on Monday in Marist’s home-opener versus Hofstra, easily cruising to victories in both singles and doubles. Playing in the fourth singles’ position, Bjerke rolled over his opponent with a 6-1, 6-2 decision. In doubles, Bjerke teamed with fellow Norwegian Trym Nagelstad in the top position to win easily by an 8-4 score.
MAAC Women’s Player of the Week
BRITTANY FILIP, SIENA

Filip had an impressive week on Siena’s annual spring break trip, winning all three of her singles matches. Filip began the week with a 6-1 and 6-3 win over Delaware State’s Maja Banas at No. 1 singles. She followed that effort up with a gutty three-set 6-1, 4-6 and 7-6 victory at No. 2 singles over Halima Michael of Davis & Elkins. Filip closed the week with a straight set 6-4 and 6-4 win over Savannah State’s Sandra Kristjansdottir at No. 1 singles. Filip also teamed with Elora Benfer to go 2-1 in doubles play on Hilton Head this past week. The pair posted wins over Davis & Elkins and Savannah State at No. 3 doubles.
