Teams Qualified for 2013 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship

Edison, N.J. – Three teams have qualified for the 2013 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship, which will be held May 3-5 at Demske Sports Complex on the campus of Canisius College.

Marist College has clinched the #1 seed in this year’s championship and at least a share of the regular season title with a league record of 5-0.  The Red Foxes will close out their league schedule on Saturday, April 27 when they travel to Riverdale, N.Y. to take on Manhattan College for a 5 p.m. contest.

Jacksonville University has secured the #2 seed, currently in second place in the league standings at 5-1.  The Dolphins could also earn a share of the regular season title with Marist should the Red Foxes drop their final league contest and tie at 5-1. 

Siena College will be the #3 seed as they stand at 3-2 in conference play.  The Saints will host VMI in the teams’ regular season finale on Saturday, April 27 at noon at Siena Field.

Vying for the #4 seed are Canisius and the University of Detroit, who are currently tied at 2-3 in the MAAC standings.  The Titans will host the Griffs for the deciding contest on Saturday, April 27 at noon at Titan Field.

The semifinals of the 2013 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship will take place on Friday, May 3 at 4:15 and 8 p.m.  The title game of the championship will be on Sunday, May 5 at 1 p.m.  All three contests will air on ESPN3 and Time Warner Cable.
