Riverdale, N.Y. - The Lasallian Outreach Volunteer Experience (L.O.V.E.) provides service and social-justice travel experiences.Each L.O.V.E. trip offers immersion experiences, and the opportunity to experience an unfamiliar culture and learn about issues of social justice.
For this L.O.V.E. three Manhattan College student-athletes were selected to travel to the Dominican Republic for one week during the college's spring break. While in the Dominican Republic, this team met tons of new people through helping out in schools and small communities. This trip helped them to broaden their horizons by focusing on faith, service, forming community and reflecting on issues of justice. All members of this team developed quality, value-based relationships with fellow participants, as well as with communities whose culture, language and resources may be very different from your own.
