Canisius' Godzak Earns Freshman All-American Honors

EDISON, N.J. – Canisius left handed pitcher Alex Godzak has been named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American team as announced today. The team is selected by the Collegiate Baseball newspaper.
The Syracuse, N.Y. native was also named the 2013 MAAC Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the All-MAAC Second Team. On the season, Godzak threw for a record of 8-3, striking out 66 batters and holding his opponents to a .234 batting average.
Godzak is the fourth Golden Griffin to earn this honor in the past seven seasons.
