Day 1 at the Career In Sports Forum - By Matty Berman

Matty Berman is a Sophomore Men's Soccer student-athlete from Marist College. He is one of four MAAC student-athletes who have been chosen to attend the 2013 NCAA National Career in Sports Forum held in Indianapolis, Ind. This is a blog written by Matty about his experience at the Forum.
So the first day of the NCAA Career In Sports Forum is complete. After waking up at the crack of dawn to catch a 6:30 flight to Indianapolis, the group and I landed from the NY/NJ area and took a brief tour of the city while we waited for check in getting to know each other informally before the forum even began.
Not knowing what to expect the forum started off with a group wide meeting with all 277 student athletes and administrators. We soon found out that todays focus would be a introspective look at our own values and how they apply to working in the world of athletics. The notion of knowing yourself before you can correctly market yourself to others was a key factor that we all took away from the day.
After various large group seminars and small group discussions continuing with the theme of branding yourself and values, we concluded for the night, free to explore what the hotel and Indianapolis have to offer.
