Siena Sweeps First Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

BRITTANY PFAFF, SIENA

Pfaff led the Saints with seven points as the Saints opened with wins over UMass and Binghamton last weekend. In Friday’s season opener she scored two goals and assisted on the game-winner goal as the Saints defeated the UMass 4-3. On Sunday she added two more assists, including one on the game winner, as Siena defeated the Bearcats 2-1.

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

TAYLOR BOOTH, SIENA

G, Jr., 5-8, Epping, N.H./Brewster Academy?

Booth went a perfect 2-0 in goal with 16 saves and a .800 save percentage in leading the Saints to opening weekend victories over UMass and Binghamton. On Friday she tied a career-high with 11 saves in the win over the Minutewomen, and added five more in a dominant effort Sunday vs. Binghamton.

MAAC Rookie of the Week

TARA SOBIERAJSKI, SIENA

B, Fr.,? B, 5-8, Rockaway, N.J./Morris Catholic

Sobierajski excelled on both ends of the field in leading the Saints to a 2-0 opening weekend. In her collegiate debut Friday, the center back tallied her first collegiate goal and added an assist for a three-point game against UMass. Additionally, as time expired she made a sliding save knocking away the potential game-tying tally to preserve the win. In Sunday’s win over Binghamton she played all 90 minutes once again in the center back, limiting the Bearcats to just one goal. ?
