NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y -- Christine Kloiber has been named head coach for the cross country and women's track & field teams, it was announced today by Niagara Director of Athletics Tom Crowley.

Kloiber comes to Niagara with 10 years of coaching experience.  She was the head coach of the Regis College (Division III) men's and women's indoor/outdoor track & field teams from 2003-12.  At Regis she was responsible for building the first men's team in program history and coached them to the Division III ECAC qualifiers within three seasons.  Kloiber also coordinated all administrative, budgetary, equipment, logistical, and practical operations of the team.

"We welcome Christine Kloiber to Niagara University," said Crowley.  "Christine stood out in our national search for a new cross country coach.  She has an infectious enthusiasm and a good understanding of how to build a quality running program."

For the last two years Kloiber has served as the coach of the Hare & Hounds Running Club of the University of Edinburgh in Scotland where she earned her Master's Degree in Sport Performance Enhancement.  She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in May of 2000.

"I'm incredibly honored to be joining Niagara University Athletics as NU's Cross Country and Outdoor Track Coach," Kloiber said. "The team is rich with talent and drive, and is eager to make a strong impact on the MAAC. I'm looking forward to not only this season, but many more to come."
