MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
ANDREW INCHO, Canisius
F, Sr., 6-1, 173, Medina, N.Y./Medina
Incho recorded a career-best three points in the Griffs' 3-2 victory against Robert Morris. The senior executed a perfect flip throw-in in the first half, assisting on a goal to give the Griffs a 2-1 lead. After the Colonials tied the game, Incho then scored the game-winning goal in the second stanza.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
BORJA ANGOITIA, Quinnipiac
G, Jr., 6-2, 185, Bilbao, Spain/Erandio and Wasilla
Borja Angoitia posted 10 saves and recorded a shutout victory in a 1-1 week for the Bobcats. In the first game of the week, against 2012 NCAA Tournament participant Loyola (Md.), Angoitia made a season-high seven saves in a 1-0 loss. Angoitia was stellar all match before a breakaway goal in the 83rd minute spoiled the shutout bid. The senior keeper followed that performance with three saves and his first shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Holy Cross.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
JOE MARTIN, Fairfield
Fr., G, 6-3, 175, York, England/Fulford School
Joe Martin came up with five saves to record his first collegiate shutout, in a 1-0 win over Yale on the road. The talented freshman used late-game heroics to keep Fairfield in front as he made two saves in the final minute to preserve the win. Martin faced 13 shots in the game.
