Alycia Cartica, Marist

Senior Alycia Cartica scored three goals and added two assists in a 2-0 weekend for Marist. Cartica scored two goals and had two assists in a 5-1 win over UMass Lowell on Friday for the Red Foxes first victory of the season. On Sunday, in Marist’s 3-0 win over Duquesne, Cartica, a former walk-on, scored what proved to the game winner 24 minutes into the first half.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Trista Rivera, Iona
SR. GK 5-7 Wading River, NY / Shoreham Wading River
Iona College senior goalkeeper Trista Rivera made 13 saves over two games last weekend, both of which went into overtime. In a 1-1 tie with Hartford, Rivera made seven saves in 110 minutes. On Sunday, Rivera made six saves, including a pair late in the game, to keep the match scoreless through regulation, forcing another overtime contest. Binghamton would eventually score the game winner in a 1-0 decision after the winning shot deflected off a Gael defender.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Alexis McTamney, Monmouth
FR 5-4 F Bordentown, N.J. (Bordentown Regional)
Monmouth freshman Alexis McTamney earned her first career starts for Monmouth last Thursday at Lehigh and against Seton Hall on Monday, and helped the Hawks to a 2-0 week. McTamney had four shots against Lehigh and hit the crossbar on one of her attempts. Then against Seton Hall, the freshman forward scored the first goals of her career, notching a pair of scores to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead by the 18th minute, en route to a 3-2 victory. Of her eight shots on the week, five were on goal.
