WILL HUDSON, Canisius

Hudson led the Griffs to victory in their only match of the week, scoring both goals in a 2-1 overtime win against St. Bonaventure. After Canisius spotted St. Bonaventure the match’s first goal early in the second half, Hudson scored the game-tying goal 40 seconds later. In the extra session, Hudson scored from the penalty spot for the game-winning score.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
BRENDEN OTTMAN, Niagara
G, Fr., 6-4, Fort Worth, Tx./ Keller Central
Freshman Brenden Ottman backstopped Niagara men’s soccer team in its 1-0 win over the previously unbeaten Cornell Big Red on Sunday afternoon. After the Purple Eagles took a lead early in the second half against Cornell, the Big Red put on the pressure and managed three shots on goal down the stretch. The Fort Worth, Texas native stopped all three to get the first shutout and the first win of his collegiate career. It was his third start of the season.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
LOUIS MOBBS, Saint Peter’s
D, Fr., 6-3, 61, Hull, England/Sydney Smith
Mobbs played a key role for the Peacocks who went 1-0-1 last week, anchoring a defense that allowed just one goal in 216 minutes and 15 seconds over two overtime matches. Mobbs scored the game winning goal in Saint Peter’s 1-0 win over Bryant, when he headed in a pass off of a corner kick. Mobbs is one of three freshmen starting on defense for the Peacocks.
