James Beeston, Siena

James Beeston tallied a career-high six points, including a career-best two goals, and added two assists in the Saints’ 4-1 season opening victory over Sacred Heart in Connecticut. Beeston factored in the scoring on all four goals and scored what proved to be the game-winner. The victory also made for a successful debut for Siena’s first year head coach Cesar Markovic.

Joe Martin, Fairfield
FR GK 6-3 175 York, England / Fulford School
Goalie Joe Martin made his debut for Fairfield on Friday against Hartwick, and responded with three saves in 110 minutes of work in a 1-1 OT tie. He posted a save in the first half and two more in the second half. Martin faced 12 shots including four attempts in the two overtimes. The freshman made two saves in the final eight minutes, including one with 33 seconds remaining to keep the game tied at 1-1.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Adrien Huss, Rider
FR M 5-9 150 Fr. Madrid, Spain (Lycee Francais de Madrid)
Newcomer Adrien Huss scored on a rebound to give Rider a 1-0 lead seven and a half minutes into the second half, and the Broncs went on to a 2-1 season opening win over Robert Morris. In his collegiate debut, Huss had three of Rider’s nine shots, and two of the Broncs’ seven shots on goal. Huss hails from Madrid.
