Manhattan At Iona Matchup On Jan. 31 Set For ESPNU

EDISON, N.J. –The Manhattan College men’s basketball game at Iona College, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 31, will be broadcast live on ESPNU. Game time is set for 9:00 p.m.
Also on Jan. 31, Saint Peter’s University will play host to Rider University at 7:00 p.m., in a game to be broadcast on ESPN3.
The two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games were set to help celebrate Super Bowl week in the metropolitan area. The Super Bowl will be played on Sunday, Feb. 2, at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
The Manhattan-Iona game is a renewal of one of the long-time rivalries in the MAAC and the metropolitan area. It will be the 83rd meeting of the two teams, and the first time the two teams have met since the 2013 MAAC Championship game, won by Iona, 60-57. The Gaels hold a 45-37 edge in the series.
Rider and Saint Peter’s have enjoyed a long history, too, with the Broncs holding a 29-24 advantage in the series. The Jan. 31 game will mark the 54th meeting between the two New Jersey schools.
