Chris Perez – Men’s Basketball – Canisius College
Sr., G, 6-3, 210, Santiago, Dominican Republic/Oldsmar Christian/Stetson
Canisius senior guard Chris Perez is averaging 10.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game for the Golden Griffins. He has started all 17 games this year for the Blue and Gold, and the team is 6-2 on the season when he scores 10 points or more points. Perez, who came to Canisius after graduating from Stetson with his undergraduate degree last May, ranks in the top 10 in the league in minutes played with 34.7 per contest, and he’s often matched-up on defense with the opposing team’s top offensive player on the perimeter. In the classroom, Perez holds a 3.8 grade point average while working toward his master’s degree in sport administration.
Tehresa Coles – Women's Basketball – Siena College
Jr., G., 5-9, Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central
The junior captain led the MAAC with 90 steals last season, the third most in program history, and ranked 28th nationally with 2.9 steals per game. Last summer, Coles completed an internship at the Ayco Company, L.P., a financial counseling firm in Albany. Siena College's Student Athlete of the Month for December, Coles is on track to earn her degree in just three years and then pursue a master's in accounting next year. She holds a 3.28 GPA as an accounting major.
