MAAC Player of the Week

OUSMANE DRAME, Quinnipiac

Jr., F., 6-9, 225, Boston, Mass/New Mission/Marianapolis Prep

Ousmane Drame averaged 14.5 points and 15.5 rebounds per game to help Qunnipiac to a pair of victories. The junior forward recorded a  double-double with 15 points and 21 rebounds against Monmouth, and added a school-record seven blocks. It was the second time in his career that he grabbed 20 or more rebounds, and he became just the 15th player in MAAC history, and the ninth since 2000, to record 20 or more rebounds in a game. Drame also set a Quinnipiac Division I program record with his seven blocks against the Hawks. Drame also became the seventh player in Quinnipiac history to record 100 blocks in a career, and just the third during the Division I era.  In the Bobcats’ victory over Niagara, Drame notched his 16th career double-double, with 14 points and 10 rebounds. He added three blocks in the game, and went 8-for-9 from the free-throw line.

MARQUIS WRIGHT, Siena

Siena freshman point guard Marquis Wright averaged 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists, and converted 50 percent from the field in a pair of MAAC road games last week. On Sunday, Wright scored 12 points, and added eight rebounds, including seven off the offensive boards, and eight assists. He finished just two rebounds and two assists shy of Siena’s first triple-double in nine years. Earlier in the week, he had another strong game at Manhattan, scoring 11 points, grabbing five rebounds and five assists at the Jaspers. Wright continues to lead the MAAC in both assists, with 5.8 per game, and steals, with 2.1 per contest. He is No. 19 in NCAA Division I in assists.
