Dr. Safford-Ramus Elected to Division I NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative Association

Edison, N.J. - Dr. Katherine Safford-Ramus, the Faculty Athletic Representative at Saint Peter’s University, has recently been elected to serve as the Division I representative to the NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative Association (FARA). The FARA serves as a collective voice of the faculty athletic representatives in all three NCAA Divisions. It is the FARA’s role to advocate for faculty athletics representatives and to represent their concerns at the national level. The FARA’s met last week at the NCAA Convention in San Diego, CA.

Katherine Safford-Ramus is an associate professor of mathematics at Saint Peter’s University, the Jesuit College of New Jersey. Dr. Safford has been teaching mathematics at the tertiary level for 24 years.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics for Chestnut Hill College, a Master’s of Arts in Mathematics Education from Jersey City State College, and a doctorate in Mathematics Education from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.
