Billy Baron averaged 34.5 points per game as the Golden Griffins scored home wins over Niagara and Marist. In the win over Marist, Baron matched his career high with 38 points, including 25 in the game’s first half. Baron was 12-for-23 from the field and set career-highs for field goals made and attempted in a game. He also went 5-for-11 from beyond the 3-point arc, the sixth time this season he has hit at least five 3-point field goals in a contest. In the team’s 87-74 win over Niagara, Baron scored a game-high 31 points despite having to leave the floor to receive stitches over his eye to close a cut he received when he bumped heads with a Niagara player. For the week, Baron hit .550 percent from the field, .474 percent from beyond the 3-point arc, and .889 percent (16-for-18) from the free-throw line. He also contributed 3.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists per contest. It’s the third time this season Baron has been named MAAC Player of the Week.

KHALLID HART, Marist

Hart averaged 14.7 points and while playing nearly 35 minutes per game in Marist's three games last week. Hart also converted .452 percent of his attempts from the field and .824 from the free-throw line, and contributed 3.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game. In Marist's win over Saint Peter's on Jan. 20, Hart had 15 points, four rebounds and three assists while going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. He totaled 12 points, three assists, three rebounds and a steal while shooting 4-for-7 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free-throw line at Niagara on Jan. 24. At Canisius on Jan. 26, he scored 17 points and had a career-high four steals.
