Siena set to host Manhattan in Women's Basketball on ESPN3

EDISON, N.J. – The Siena College Saints will host the Manhattan College Jaspers at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. on Thursday night at 6 p.m. The broadcast will be featured live on ESPN3 as part of the MAAC ESPN broadcast package.
The Siena Saints women’s basketball team enters the contest at 6-13 overall and 1-9 in MAAC play. The Saints will look to end a seven game skid and earn their second league win of the season. Siena leads the league in steals per contest (10.4), offensive rebounds per game (15.9), and offensive rebounding percentage (36.4%). Junior guard Tehresa Coles leads the Saints in scoring, averaging 10 points per game and is tied for first in the MAAC in steals per game with 1.9 a contest. Coles also ranks third in offensive rebounds grabbing 3.2 per game and eighth in the league in rebounding with 6.2 per contest. She is the only true guard that ranks in the top ten in the league for rebounding. Freshman forward Meghan Donohue ranks fourth in the league in field goal percentage shooting 54.2% and 14th in the league in rebounding, averaging 5.6 per game. Freshman guard Emia Willingham ranks seventh in the MAAC with a 1.8 steals per game average. Siena has had three different freshmen named MAAC Rookie of the Week on four separate occasions this season which includes Donohue twice, Willingham, and Brianna Logan.
The Manhattan College Jaspers women’s basketball team sits at 3-7 in league play and 4-15 overall. The Jaspers have gone 1-7 in MAAC play since starting 2-0 and have dropped their last three straight league games. The Jaspers rank second in the MAAC with 10.1 steals per contest and are the only other team besides Siena that averages more than ten steals per game. Senior guard/forward Monica Roeder leads the Jaspers and ranks 11th in the MAAC in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per outing. Sophomore forward Shayna Ericksen ranks eighth in offensive rebounds per game pulling down 2.3 and 12th in totals rebounds grabbing 5.9 per game. She also ranks fifth in field goal percentage, shooting 53.1%. Senior guard Allison Skrec averages 5.5 assists per game, good for second in the league. Freshman center Kayla Grimme has earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors twice this season on Nov. 18 and Dec. 9.
Siena will look to sweep the season series against Manhattan. The Saints took the first meeting of the year, 82-58, on Jan. 5 as Meghan Donohue and Theresa Coles each recorded double-doubles for the Saints. Donohue scored 15 points and had 11 rebounds while Coles scored 14 points and snared 14 rebounds. Shayna Ericksen led the Jaspers with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Monica Roeder registered 14 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
