McKenzie and Donohue Earn Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

MyNeshia McKenzie, Rider

In Rider’s 2-1 week, McKenzie averaged 20.7 points and 7.0 rebounds, playing over 36 minutes per contest. In a road win at Siena on December 31, McKenzie tied a career-high with 29 points and added eight rebounds and four steals as Rider broke open a close game late in a 77-63 win. At Quinnipiac on January 3, McKenzie had 22 points (her fifth 20 point game in a row) and she added six rebounds in a 71-59 loss. In Rider’s 64-53 win at Monmouth on January 5, McKenzie had a team-high seven rebounds and three assists while adding 11 points, including three free throws in the final minute after the Hawks cut the Bronc lead to six. For the week, McKenzie shot 48.8 percent from the field and 67.9 from the free throw line.

 

 

MAAC Rookie of the Week

Meghan Donohue, Siena

Fr., F, 6-2, Mogadore, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban

 

Donohue averaged 13.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and shot 55 percent from the field in two games last week for the Saints. In Sunday’s road win at Manhattan, Donohue posted her second collegiate double-double in leading the Saints in scoring with a career-high 15 points to go along with 11 rebounds, six of which came off the offensive glass. She added 11 points and seven rebounds in Tuesday’s game vs. Rider.
