Edison, N.J.- Quinnipiac’s Brendan Copley and Tracy Campbell were named the MAAC Cross Country Runners of the Week.

Headlining the Bobcats' effort on Saturday was junior Brendan Copley, who placed 25th out of a crowded field of 262 runners from 38 different programs. Copley continues to excel as the Bobcats' top performer as he now has placed first on the team in 11 straight events dating back to the start of his sophomore season. He finished with a time of 25:03.64 which represented an average mile time of just over five minutes at 5:02.5.

Just two years removed from running in the sub-varsity event at the New England Championships as a freshman, Campbell has blossomed into not only one of the best performers on the team but one of the best in the entire region. Campbell's 23rd place result is her best ever at the New England Championship while her time of 18:10.40 is nearly 21 seconds faster than her previous best at the event. Saturday's result also marked another career-first for Campbell as it was the first time she has placed first on the team in 15 career appearances.

The 2014 MAAC Cross Country Championships will be held on Friday, October 31st at Holmdel Park, Holmdel N.J.
