EDISON, N.J. – The 2015 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Rowing Championships has moved to Sunday, May 17. The Championships will continue to be held at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J.
The date change of the Championships places the event on a weekend concurrent with other Division I conferences and two weekends prior to the NCAA championships. The MAAC will also coincide with the American Athletic Conference and Colonial Athletic Association conference championships.
“The move of the MAAC Rowing Championships reflects the MAAC’s commitment to provide the student-athletes with the best atmosphere possible by aligning the date with other Division I conference championships and moving closer to the NCAA Championships,” notes Richard Ensor, MAAC Commissioner. “It allows the conference to send the best team to the national championship and the winner of the MAAC Championship will be better prepared to compete in late May.”
The winning team of the championship will earn an automatic qualifier to compete in the NCAA Division I Rowing Championship at Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, Calif.
