Jake Byrne and Emily Ritter named MAAC Runners of the Week

Edison, N.J.- Iona’s Jake Byrne and Rider’s Emily Ritter were named the MAAC Cross Country Runners of the Week.
Senior Jake Byrne led the No. 14 Iona College men's cross country team to a second place finish at the 2014 Adidas Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin. Byrne crossed the line in the 8k course with a time of 23:58. He was just 15 seconds off the race winner.
Senior Emily Ritter finished ninth overall of 278 runners at the Princeton Invitational. Ritter broke the Rider record on Princeton course in a time of 21:59.
The 2014 MAAC Cross Country Championships will be held on Friday, October 31st at Holmdel Park, Holmdel N.J.
