EDISON, N.J. – MAAC Commissioner, Richard Ensor, is scheduled to participate in a number of high profile events. Among these events are the Ivy Sports Symposium, Fordham University’s National Basketball Negotiation Competition and the Sports Lawyers Association Outreach Panel at UNLV.

“I always appreciate the opportunity to give back the benefits I have received in my career and education by participating in events such as these symposiums and seminars,” notes Richard Ensor, MAAC Commissioner.  “I hope in doing so to provide the participating students with the perspectives of a commissioner working with the complex legal and related issues confront the NCAA and its Division I conferences and member schools.”

The Ivy Sports Symposium is an annual student-run conference that allows the industry’s leaders to share their knowledge with peers and potential successors. This year’s Symposium will be held on the campus of Princeton University. In 2012, 650 professionals and students attended the 20 panel sessions. Speakers at the event range from college to professional sport executives.

Ensor has also been invited to judge the third annual National Basketball Negotiation Competition at Fordham University School of Law. The competition consists of head-to-head negotiations between teams of two competitors who negotiate issues based on real-world scenarios concerning the National Basketball Association.

The SLA Outreach Panel will be held at UNLV School of Law. The eight-person panel will have each panelist present on a hot topic in sports law. Some of the topics being discussed include sponsorships, paying of collegiate student-athletes, substance abuse policies and concussion management at the collegiate and professional levels.
