WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Now on a seven-match win streak, the Monmouth University women's soccer team is ranked eighth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Northeast Region, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon. Monmouth, which is now 13-4 overall and 8-1 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, is in the regional rankings for the third consecutive week.
“The regional ranking is a tremendous credit to our team," stated head coach
Krissy Turner, whose squad defeated both Iona and Marist this week. "Players are stepping up and embracing the challenge of finding ways for us to have big moments during the course of our last several matches. The end of the season is a critical time of year to be at the peak of our game. Hopefully, we can carry this momentum into the Conference Championships.”
Also represented on the region's top-10 list are DePaul (the lone unbeaten at 14-0-3), UCF, Georgetown, Connecticut, South Florida, St. John's and Memphis in the top-seven, while Temple and Marquette rank ninth and tenth, respectively.
Monmouth, which has earned at least a share of its second straight MAAC Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament, has outscored its opposition 37-15 over its 17 games, and has posted 10 shutouts during that span.
