48 MAAC Softball Student-Athletes Earn NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

EDISON, N.J. – 48 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) softball student-athletes were recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) with All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2013-14 academic year. Those student-athletes who achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher during the academic year are eligible for NFCA honors.

A total of 1,096 Division I players were recognized. The 42 MAAC student-athletes include representatives from Canisius College, Fairfield University, Iona College, Manhattan College, and Rider University.

In addition, the NFCA calculated each team’s cumulative GPA based on information submitted by member coaches. Iona led the MAAC and attained the sixth-best team GPA in the nation, holding a cumulative team GPA of 3.584.
