Matt Turner, Fairfield, Men's Soccer, Goalkeeper, Jr., 6-3, Park Ridge, N.J.
Matt Turner leads the Fairfield University men’s soccer team into the semifinals of the MAAC tournament this weekend with a 0.45 goals against average and a .895 save percentage, both of which rank third in the national statistics. He has posted 12 shutouts in his 17 appearances which ties the team for the top spot in the nation for shutout percentage (0.67). Turner earned his 12th shutout in a 1-0 win over Rider in the first round of the MAAC tournament last weekend. He has earned Dean’s List and an MAAC All-Academic honors.
Taylor Epstein, Canisius, Swimming & Diving, Diver, Sr., Cleveland, Ohio
Senior Taylor Epstein has been excellent on the diving board this season for the Golden Griffins. The senior from Cleveland, Ohio has won multiple diving events this season, including the 1-meter and 3-meter events over SUNY Geneseo last weekend. Epstein won the 1-meter over the Knights with a score of 212.10 and the 3-meter with a score of 231.15
The diver has also found success in the classroom; she was named to the MAAC All-Academic team in 2013. She is a Health and Wellness Major and has a cumulative GPA of 3.33.
