Rider's Howard Named Corvias ECAC Defensive Player of the Week

EDISON, N.J. - Rider University's Bethany-May Howard has been named Corvias ECAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard came up big for Rider last week in the MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship. The sophomore goalkeeper made nine saves in a 1-0 shutout victory versus top seeded Monmouth University in the semifinal round. In the championship final, Howard pulled out five saves in a 1-1 tie versus Fairfield University, and made the deciding save in the shootout to give Rider the 5-4 penalty kick edge. The women’s soccer title was the first in program history for Rider.
