Rider's Smith Named Corvias ECAC Co-Rookie of the Week

EDISON, N.J. - Rider University's Ellie Smith has been named Corvias ECAC Co-Rookie of the Week.
Smith scored both goals for the Rider Broncs in a 2-1 victory over Siena. Smith moved from midfield to forward due to injuries on the team and scored the first goal of the game in the 30th minute when she took a cross pass and headed the ball into the net to give Rider a 1-0 lead. She scored the game-winning goal with just 1:26 left to play to break a 1-1 tie and lead the Broncs to the semifinal round.
Smith shares the honor with Clare Paoletta of Fordham University.
