Hawks' O'Dwyer Takes ECAC Field Hockey Award

EDISON, N.J. – Monmouth University senior midfielder Trish O’Dwyer was one of two student-athletes named Division I field hockey “Co-Offensive Players of the Week” by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC). This is the first time this season a MAAC player has been named an ECAC weekly award honoree.

O’Dwyer, who was selected by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as its Offensive Player of the Week, posted 10 points last week for the Hawks on four goals and two assists. Over the Hawks captured their first regular season championship in 14 years.  Against Siena, the forward recorded her third career seven-point outing powered by her third-career hat trick.  The senior followed up with a three-point outing against Bryant, scoring a goal and an assist.  O’Dwyer recorded 20 shot attempts over the weekend with half reaching target, while posting one game-winning goal.

O’Dwyer shares the ECAC honor with Steph Guglielmo of Providence College.
