Meghan McGuinness, Niagara, Women's Basketball, Guard, Sr., 5-10, Lincroft, N.J.
McGuinness, a 2014-15 Preseason All-MAAC Second Team selection, is one of Niagara's top returning offensive players. As a junior, the 2013-14 All-MAAC Second Team guard finished with 12.9 points per game overall and 14.0 points per game in MAAC contests. She also finished with a 44 percent success rate from beyond the three-point line and a 91.4 percent rate from the charity stripe. So far this season, she is averaging 9.2 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game. McGuinness recorded a team-high 22 points and had six rebounds against Big 4 rival, Buffalo Bulls. She also contributed 15 points and three rebounds in Niagara’s first win of the season over Binghamton on Nov. 26. The senior is shooting 81.8 percent (9-for-11) from the charity stripe this year.
Evan Conti, Quinnipiac, Men's Basketball, Guard, Sr., 6-3, Bayside, N.Y.
Evan Conti averaged 14.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games for the Bobcats last week. In Sunday’s win over Vermont, Conti was the offensive catalyst in the first half, scoring 17 of his career-high 22 in the opening 20 minutes. He went 7-for-11 from the field, 4-for-5 from long-range and made 4-of-5 from the free-throw line. Conti also grabbed six rebounds and handed out four assists in the double-digit victory. Earlier in the week, Conti had six points, six rebounds and three assists in the game against Hartford.
